Description
Kenilworth is a tea estate in the Central Province of Sri Lanka, located near the town of Ginigathena, between two major towns – Kandy and Nuwara Eliya.
The estate was started by an Englishman who chose its name from the name of a castle in the UK.
As the elevation of this estate is around 2,000 ft (620m), its Ceylon black tea belongs to the category of mid-grown. The estate boasts magnificent scenery of mountains covered by green forest and filled with waterfalls. It receives plenty of rain as both monsoons, South West and North East reach the area.
The black tea of this estate made a name as one of the best Ceylon teas and is recognized by tea connoisseurs worldwide for its smooth, fragrant liquor.
