Description
Pedro tea estate can be reached by driving a bit more than 2 miles east from the city of Nuwara Eliya, in the mountainous Central Province of Sri Lanka. The estate was established in 1885 and is located at the elevation of 6,250 ft (1,900m). Due to its high elevation, its climate is much cooler than the lower parts of Sri Lanka, and the average temperature is just 59 deg. C (15 deg.C). Thanks to this and the good amount of rain it gets, it produces some of the best Ceylon tea, deserving to be called “the champagne of the Ceylon tea”.
